More than 50 nationalities gather in holy city of Kerbela

SHAFAQNA-

Thousands of pilgrims of more than 50 nationalities from different countries around the world gathered in the holy city of Kerbela to commemorate the Arba’een anniversary of Imam Hussein (Peace Be Upon Him).

Going on foot to the shrine of Imam Hussein (Peace Be Upon Him), all pilgrims are equal; they help one another; their love for Imam Hussein (Peace Be Upon Him) gathered them in a small city.

Reyadh Ne’meh Selman, director of Husseinian Rituals Department at Imam Hussein Shirn, said that more than 10000 groups of volunteers – who came from different Iraqi cities and countries – are now offering free services to Arba’een pilgrims.

He added that it is expected that Kerbela will receive more than 25 million pilgrims from all over the world this year, which is considered the world’s largest peaceful gathering.
