SHAFAQNA – Ninety-five memorizers from 20 Quran memorization centers in Thailand took part in the competition, according to al-Qabas daily.
They competed at five levels on memorization of the Holy Quran.
The al-Rahma World Association, a charity institute affiliated to Kuwait’s Social Reform Society, organized the contest.
Ali Rashid, head of the association’s branch in Thailand, said it was aimed at promoting memorization, recitation and understanding the Quran among Muslims youth in the country.
Thailand is a country at the center of the Indochinese peninsula in Southeast Asia.
Muslims are the second largest religious group in Thailand making up about five percent of the country’s 70 million population.
