A diplomatic source: Saudi advised the UAE and Bahrain to cut diplomatic ties with Iran

Shafaqna – A semi-official news agency in Iran (Farsnews) reported that Saudi advised the UAE and Bahrain to follow the same step and cut diplomatic ties with Iran.

Fars on late Sunday quoted from an unnamed diplomatic source that following the cut off diplomatic relations with Tehran, the Saudi asked united action among the Persian Gulf countries, including Bahrain and the United Arab Emirates. The source stated that the UAE and Bahrain, specially may also issue similar statements and cut or downgrade diplomatic ties with Iran.

The execution of Sheikh Nimr al-Nimr sparked criticism and reaction in the Middle East and escalated the tension between Iran and Saudi and its allies.
