A suicide attack targeted Turkish Embassy convoy near Iranian Embassy in Kabul

Shafaqna – There are reports of a suicide explosion targeted a Turkish Embassy convoy in Kabul.

The attack took placed near the Iranian and Turkish embassies on Thursday early morning and the Taliban claimed responsibility for the attack.

According to Aljazeara “the target was a Turkish embassy vehicle”, though its preliminary report suggested Iranian embassy was targeted.

Press TV also confirmed “The blast occurred on Thursday outside the gate of the Iranian Embassy when an explosive-ridden vehicle targeted a car of the Turkish Embassy, which is adjacent to the Iranian mission in the city”.

Deputy interior minister for security Gen. Ayub Salangi confirmed that a Toyota Corolla vehicle packed with explosives was used in the attack, Khaama Press reported.

At least one civilian was injured and the driver was killed in the attack.
