Air strike hits Aden after Saudi Arabia ends bombing campaign

SHAFAQAN – According to The Guardian reported that ”  The US and Iran have both welcomed Saudi Arabia’s decision to end its bombing campaign against Houthi rebels in Yemen, but the fragility of the situation was underlined when a new air strike hit the southern port city of Aden just hours after the announcement. The Saudi defence ministry on Tuesday night announced the end of nearly a month of attacks that saw Yemen’s domestic political chaos becoming enmeshed in regional rivalries. The US and Iran – accused by Saudi Arabia of arming the rebels – both expressed the hope that it would open the way for a negotiated settlement of the conflict racking the country. Nearly 950 people have been killed and a major humanitarian crisis has erupted.” The Report added ” But Tuesday’s surprise statement from Riyadh raised more questions than it answered since the deposed Yemeni president, Abd Rabbu Mansour Hadi, has not been restored and Houthi fighters are still in control of Sana’a. Hadi said in a statement in Riyadh, the Saudi capital, that he and his supporters would triumph. “We will succeed and extremists will have no option but to resort to peaceful means,” he declared.”
