SHAFAQNA- The 9th edition of the international Quran recitation by Al-Kawthar TV network started on June 6.
According to the relations and international cooperation office of the network, the Quranic event titled “Inna lil-Muttaqina Mafaza” (Indeed, for the righteous is attainment- Holy Quran, 78:31) began on the first night of the holy month of Ramadan.
Three Quran reciters including Kazim Asgharzade from Afghanistan, Yusuf Hamadi from Iran and Qasim Zeinuddin from Lebanon competed on the first night.
The participants respectively recited verses 36 to 40 of Surah An’aam, 53 to 57 of Surah Israa and 180 to 186 of Surah A’raaf and scored 76, 73.5 and 66.5 out of 100.
The competition was supervised by Seyyed Mahdi Seif from Iran, Sheikh Muhammad Ihsan Al-Sayyed Hassan from Syria, Meytham Al-Tammar from Iraq and Muhammad Ramal from Lebanon, respectively in the categories of Tajweed, Waqf and Ibtidaa, Lahn and Sowt.
Seyyed Muhammad Javad Mousawi Dorcheyi was the honorary Qari in the first night of the competition who recited some verses of the Quran at Al-Kawthar studio.
The preliminary stage of the competition will continue until the 24th of the holy month and the winners will participate in the semi-final stage.
