Al-Wefaq Condemns Nigeria Heinous Crime, Urges Release of Sheikh Al-Zakzaky

SHAFAQNA – Bahrain’s main opposition group Al-Wefaq National Islamic Society denounced what it described as “the heinous crime” that hit Nigeria, leaving many innocent people killed.

In a statement issued on Wednesday (December 16, 2015), Al-Wefaq stressed that “the use of force and murder completely goes against the principles of humanity, the international human rights law and the principles and teachings of Islam. It cannot be justified in any way.” It further reiterated its long-standing stance backing the importance of settling differences and easing tensions by civilized methods and dialogue, as well as curbing crises, since violence proved its failure everytime.

Al-Wefaq voiced its solidarity with the families of martyrs and victims of this heinous crime, wishing the injured speedy recoveries and demanding the release of all prisoners, especially the prominent religious scholar, Sheikh Al-Zakzaky, who is known for his humane stances regarding all Islamic and humanitarian issues.
