SHAFAQNA- An international congress on Islamophobia is planned to be held in the Turkish capital city of Ankara this spring.
Slated for April 29-30, it will be organized by the Turkish Prime Minister’s office, IINA reported.
Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TIKA), Presidency of Religious Affairs of Republic of Turkey, Statistical, Economic, Social Research and Training Centre for Islamic Countries (SESRIC), General Secretariat of Developing 8 Countries (D8), Marmara University and Institute of Strategic Thinking will also cooperate in holding the event.
Islamophobia refers to prejudice, hatred, and enmity towards Islam and Muslims.
In the past few years, Islamophobia and anti-Islamic actions have been on the rise in different parts of the world, especially in western countries, due to various reasons, and there is a need to reverse this trend.
