SHAFAQNA – Shafaqna condemns in the strongest terms possible the twin attacks that took place this Wednesday morning in Tehran.
Both Ayatollah Khomeini’s shrine and Parliament were targeted by armed militants believed to be affiliated to Daesh – a group which ideology is mapped on Wahhabism and Salafism, both being the product of Saudi Arabia’s radical complex.
Tehran confirmed earlier today that Daesh claimed responsibility for both attacks.
Shafaqna would like to extend its most sincere condolences to the families of the victims and reiterate its stance that any attack against the innocent is an attack on humanity altogether.
Terror today is targeting many communities under great many pretexts and we ought to recognise that before such danger we should offer a common front.
Wherever and whenever a life is lost to Terror we all stand in mourning. Too much blood has been spilled in the name of radicalism and certain groups’ warped sense of righteousness for any of us to still believe we are not all in the firing line.
It is our very rights to our differences that groups such as Daesh are looking to crush under their boots.
Shia Islam has always stood for the oppressed and the innocent and as a Shia organisation we shall continue to offer our support to all who are under duress.
