Bahraini regime summons elderly Shiite sheikh Al-Jidhafsi for interrogation

SHAFAQNA – The Bahraini authorities summoned on Monday (August 22, 2016) an elderly sheikh for interrogation in a series of summons and arrests targeting more than 70 Shiite clerics.

The authorities requested the presence of Sheikh Ali bin Ahmad Al-Jidhafsi for questioning at the Sitra police station.

Sheikh Al-Jidhafsi takes part in many protests that call for the Bahraini people’s right to determine their fate and demand putting an end to the persecution of the Shiite-majority in the country practiced by the ruling Al Khalifa family.
