Bangladesh bomb attack on Shia Muslims at Ashura

SHAFAQNA – One person has been killed and at least 50 others wounded in a bomb attack on Shia Muslims in Bangladesh.

Thousands of worshippers had gathered for the annual Ashura procession in the capital, Dhaka, when several home-made devices were thrown at them, according to police.

The BBC’s Masud Khan in Dhaka said the attack has shocked the Shia Muslim community and that they fear it is not an isolated incident.
