Birth anniversary of Ali Akbar (a.s) observed as Youth Day in Kashmir

SHAFAQNA – Anjuman Shari Shiayan Monday observed the birth anniversary of Imam Hussain’s beloved son Hazrat Ali Akbar (AS) as the ‘Youth Day’.

A special conference was organized at Imambara Budgam and Nowgam Bala that was addressed by several clerics, including Aga Syed Hasan, Aga Syed Yousuf  Syed Muhammad Hussain, Molvi Hatim Wali Mir and Syed Muhammad Hussain Safvi.

Throwing light on the character and sacrifices of Hazrat Ali Akbar (AS), the speakers said that it is the day that is celebrated every year as the Day of the Virtuous Youth, for it was on this day on the 11th of the month of Sha’ban that God had granted the Martyr of Karbala, Imam Husain (AS), with a meritorious son, who bore a striking resemblance to his grandfather, Prophet Mohammad (SAWA) in both appearance and, as he grew up, in excellence of character.

Speaking on the occasion, Aga Syed Hasan said that his gait, voice and eloquent manner of speech brought memories of the Prophet to the people of Medina, Mecca and elsewhere.

Saluting the role of youths in Kashmir with regard to freedom struggle, Aga Syed Hasan said that they have been showing resilience and facing all odds while confronting a strong enemy.

“The protests by youth in Kashmir show that people are eager to see the dawn of freedom,” he said and condemned the provocative tactics of Hindu fanatic organization ‘Jan Sena’ for taking on to Kashmiri people. “Jan Sena should understand that there is hell of difference between Gujarat and Kashmir,” he said.
