SHAFAQNA – The 9th edition of Najaf international book fair got underway in the Iraqi holy city on Thursday.
A number of scholars, clerics and figures, along with city officials and those in charge of the Imam Ali (AS) holy shrine were present at the opening ceremony.
221 publishers from 10 countries are presenting their latest books in the exhibition.
Apart from the host country, publishers from Lebanon and Iran have showcased the largest number of books in their pavilions.
Most of the books on display at the book fair feature Quranic and Islamic sciences, including Fiqh (jurisprudence) and Tafsir (Quran interpretation).
