“I just think Manchester United are going the right way. Why wouldn’t manager Louis van Gaal say we are trying to win the title? They are a long way off but there are a lot of games left and see if they can. There are a lot of players left to come back from injury and a central defender in January, you never know!”

On Manchester United’s prospects this season: “I’ve seen Manchester United play four or five times this season under Louis van Gaal and they’ve disappointed me every time. I’m not sure of the job he’s doing with the money that’s been spent.
“The questions I ask are, have they played well? What’s been the manner of their performance? That’s when you can start judging what they might achieve or where they’ll finish in the championship this season.”

League One preview
Posted at 14:38
No messing about with the times in League One. Twelve matches. Twelve 15:00 GMT starts.
Gary Johnson, who spent four-and-a-half years in charge of Bristol City, returns to face his former team as his Yeovil side have an away game at the League One leaders.
If Bristol City drop points then MK Dons, Swindon or Preston could go top if they win their respective matches against Notts County, Walsall and Barnsley.
Rochdale boss Keith Hill signed a new deal with the club earlier in the week and his side, sixth in the table, travel to Scunthorpe. League Cup semi-finalists Sheffield United have only taken four points from their last five league matches and have an away game at Port Vale.

“That would’ve been quite a magnificent goal from Amalfitano there as it all started with some clever trickery on the ball from Song and a lovely jinking run in to the box.”

The closest West Ham have come all day! Substitute Morgan Amalfitano beats the offside trap to meet a clipped ball back in, he gets a head to it and drifts the ball just wide.

“It’s been a case of not trying to repeat what I’ve been saying for the last 30 minutes. West Ham haven’t kept the ball well enough when they’ve been in advanced positions and Chelsea have just been able to handle whatever they’ve had to face.”
