Bristol’s Muslims celebrate Eid al-Fitr together

SHAFAQNA - More than 2,000 Muslims united in a school field to celebrate Eid al-Fitr – the first time the city has seen such a large gathering.

Millpond Primary School in Bristol hosted the event which saw three mosques close to allow people to pray and celebrate together.

Abdul Malik, one of the organisers of the event and the chairman of Easton Jamia Mosque, told the Post: “I don’t think in the history of Bristol we have had such a big event for the Muslim community.

“It was very emotional because after years of people talking about unity, we finally got together and had a unified Eid.

“Everybody was really happy, it was a beautiful, beautiful event.”
