Can an educated person be ignorant?

SHAFAQNA – It is narrated from Imam Hassan Askari (AS) who said: Ignorance is the enemy of the human being [1]. In many Islamic narrations the meaning of ignorance is used opposite the wisdom. Therefore, it is possible that the human being reaches high academic levels but at the same time is suffering from inadequacy and weakness of wisdom. It is mentioned in Nahjul Balaghah: How often the ignorance destroys a scholar whilst his accompanying knowledge is of no use to him [2]. In reply to the question of: What is wisdom? Imam Sadeq (AS) replied: Wisdom is that thing which with it God is worshipped and paradise is attained. The narrator asked: Then what was that in Moawiyeh? Imam (AS) replied: That is deceit and mischief; something similar to wisdom but it is not wisdom [3].
