SHAFAQNA – The Grand Ayatollah Khamenei answered a question about the payment of Zakat al Fitr to the poor child by the father.
Question: Can the father pay Zakat al-Fitr to his child who is student and needy?
The Grand Ayatollah Khamenei: If the children are poor, the father or the mother must pay for their Wajeb expenses and nothing of Zakat al-Fitr can be given to them for their daily expenses; but there is no problem to pay for debt or the necessities which are not Wajeb for the father to provide.
