SHAFAQNA (International Shia News Association)- A newborn girl has been cut out of a sewer pipe at a college dormitory after cries were heard near a toilet, according to local reports. Unable to free the baby from the toilet in Linyi University in eastern China’s Shandong province, firefighters cut the pipe from below and delicately nudged the child free. Video footage of Sunday’s incident emerged on Wednesday.
The baby was cleaned and rushed to the Fei Xian People’s Hospital in stable condition, according to medical officials. Doctors declined to comment on the baby’s status and whether she was still being treated. However, hospital officials confirmed that her mother had been there until Wednesday. According to state news agency Xinhua, the mother, who was a student at the university, gave birth early on Sunday. Calls to Linyi University went unanswered. Local police declined to comment on the case. In May 2013, the rescue of a baby from a waste pipe in a residential complex by firefighters in Jinhua was also caught on video.
