Doha exhibition unveiled two Quran manuscripts

SHAFAQNA – Two Quran manuscripts including Surah Yasin and Surah Mulk written in Kufic script and illuminated with gold will be unveiled at a specialized exhibition of calligraphy in Doha, Qatar.

According to the public relations office of the Islamic Culture and Relations Organization (ICRO), the exhibition of “Calligraphy and Illumination” was opened on January 17 in the Qatari capital.

Artworks by Iranian calligrapher Mohammad Vahid Jazayeri have been put on display at the exhibition organized by Iranian Cultural Center in Doha.

Qatar’s Ministry of Culture and Visual Arts Association have also cooperated in holding the exhibition which also features other Islamic artworks.

The opening ceremony of the exhibition was hosted by the association in Katara Cultural Village.

An educational workshop on calligraphy and illumination is due to be held at the exhibition on January 19 and 20.
