Why fault-finding is not good?

SHAFAQNA – It is narrated from Imam Ali (AS) who said: O’ the servant of God, do not rush into finding faults with another servant of God who has committed a sin, maybe his/her big sin will be forgiven, but you will be punished for your small sin. Any of you who becomes aware of the faults of others, must avoid fault-finding about him/her, because you are aware of your own faults. Giving thanks for being clean from a sin which another person has committed must prevent you from investigating other person’s sin [1].
