Ihya of Laylat Al Qadr at Imam Reza (AS) Holy Shrine

SHAFAQNA – The ritual of Ihya of Laylat Al Qadr (keeping vigil and performing prayers and reading the Quran at Laylat Al Qadr) was held at the mausoleum of Imam Reza (AS) in Mashhad, northeast Iran, on Tuesday night.

Laylat Al Qadr is considered the holiest night of the year for Muslims and is believed to fall either on the 19th, 21st, 23rd or 27th day of Ramadan.

It is known as the “Night of Power,” and commemorates the night that the Quran was first revealed to the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).
