Imam Ali attributed Quran in Astan Quds Razavi Museum

SHAFAQNA - Undersecretary of the museums, libraries, museums and Documents Center of Astan Qods Razavi, Ali Suzanchi said, “This exquisite Qur’an is in premium Kufic script with 15 lines per page and possesses a goat leather cover.”

“This exquisite Qur’anic pamphlet ascribed to the handwriting of Imam Ali (A.S.) has 69 sheets of 32 * 23 made of deerskin in light buff color”, he said.

“This holy book contains the suras from Hud to Kahf (chapters 12-16) starting from the verse 1 of Hud and ending in the verse 11- of sura Kahf”, he remarked.

Noting that this Qur’an was endowed to the holy shrine of Imam Reza (A.S.) by Shah Abbas ɪ in 1008 A.H., he added, “This Qur’an bears the endowment letter of Shah Abbas Safavi with the handwriting of Sheikh Baha ul-Din Ameli.”

“The existence of rare and peerless Qur’ans and Qur’anic manuscripts with the handwriting of the Infallibles (A.s.) has put the Treasury of Qur’an and Exquisites of Astan Quds Razavi among the most-visited and significant museums”, he reiterated.

It is notable that Treasury of Qur’an and Exquisites of Astan Quds Razavi located at the Kowsar courtyard of the holy shrine is open on Saturdays to Wednesdays from 8 to 12:30, on Thursdays from 8 to 11:30, and on Fridays and holidays from 8 to 12.
