SHAFAQNA – The General Secretariat of the Holy Shrine of Imam Hussein has drawn a group of specialized medical staffs to perform free operations on patients of martyrs’ families and the deprived.
“Walk-ins are welcomed for the treatment of these individuals at Safeer al-Hussein Hospital,” Ahmed al-Shummary, director of the hospital, said.
“Many complex operations have been successfully performed here at the hospital like spinal and nerve restoration,” added Dr. Muhammad Qarawi, a volunteer neurologist and spine specialist at the hospital.
Al-Shummary and Qarawi both praised this one-of-a-kind humanitarian initiative by the Imam Hussein Holy Shrine presented to all poor that can’t afford to pay for the costly operations and for the patients of the martyrs’ families who are fighting for the freedom of this land.
True to Imam Hussain’s teachings, and in honor of his blessed memory, those in charge of his shrine’s keep have risen to meet the needs of those most in need.
At such times when hardship has befallen many communities, Shia Islam is holding true to its responsibility.
