Iran Army to launch massive military maneuver

SHAFAQNA – The Islamic Republic of Iran Army (IRIA) is to launch a massive military exercise Thursday morning covering from the east of the Strait of Hormuz down to the Gulf of Aden.

The joint massive war game of IRIA named Prophet Mohammad the Messenger of Allah will be launched tomorrow morning in the general area of south and southeast of the country and will run for six days.

The extent of the exercise at sea is 2.2 million square kilometers from 10 degrees north of the Indian Ocean to the east of the Strait of Hormuz, and on ground it covers a massive extent of Sistan and Baluchestan and Hormozgan provinces.

All four branches of IRIA including the Ground Force, Air Force, Navy, and Air Defence Force will be taking part in the war game.

Rear Admiral Habibollah Sayyari pointed to the military exercise taking place on Dec. 25 adding, “Iran’s Navy will be utilizing all kinds of military weapons and equipment such as ships, destroyers, submarines, missiles, aircrafts, and helicopters to display the Islamic Republic’s power on waters.”

Prophet Mohammd war game with the slogan of displaying Iran’s sovereignty and lasting peace and friendship under Islamic and regional unity will take place from Dec. 25 to Dec. 30 and cover a 2.2 million square kilometers from the east of the Strait of Hormuz down to the Gulf of Aden.

The Iranian armed forces consist of the Islamic Republic of Iran Army, Islamic Republic of Iran Navy, Islamic Republic of Iran Air Force, and the Islamic Republic of Iran Air Defense Force. These forces total about 545,000 active personnel.

Iran has never launched an aggressive war in modern history, and its leadership adheres to a doctrine of no first strike.
