Iran, Vietnam review global developments

SHAFAQNA (Shia International News Association) – Visiting Vietnam Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc conferred on Wednesday with the Head of Strategic Research Studies department at the Expediency Council Ali Akbar Velayati on regional and international developments.

The two officials reviewed and exchanged views on the latest developments in the Middle East region and the world.

Vietnam Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc heading a delegation arrived in Tehran on Monday for a three-day visit and conferred with the Iranian high ranking officials on expansion of relations and cooperation between Iran and Vietnam.

In the meantime, he conferred with Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif on issues of mutual interests.

Memorandum of understanding on expansion of scientific, educational and research sector was also signed by ministers of science and technology.

Meanwhile, Iran and Vietnam signed MoU on avoiding double taxation from businessmen.

The two sides also decided to augment trade to over dlrs 500,000 in the future.

The two countries are determined to broaden their scope of cooperation in gas and oil and petrochemical industry, tourism, health and treatment, science and technology.

The 50-member Vietnamese businessmen from the private sector are currently on a visit to Iran to explore ways to develop economic cooperation with their Iranian counterparts as the Iranian and Vietnamese governments are determined to support them.
