Is it allowed for clerics to charge for teaching religious matters? The Grand Ayatollah Khamenei’s answer

SHAFAQNA – The Grand Ayatollah Khamenei answered a question about clerics charging for teaching religious matters.

Question: Is it allowed for clerics to charge for teaching religious matters to people?

The Grand Ayatollah Khamenei: Despite the fact that teaching Halal and Haram matters essentially is Wajeb and charging for it is not allowed, but there is no problem charging to teach elements of matters which are not necessarily about religious laws (Sharia Laws) and religiously they are not Wajeb for the human being like attending a particular place.
