Israel to tear down Palestinian school, commercial buildings in Ramallah

SHAFAQNA – Israel on Tuesday issued demolition notices for a Palestinian school and some commercial buildings in the West Bank town of Silwad, northeast of Ramallah.

Silwad mayor, Abdel-Rahman Saleh, told WAFA Israeli army forces stormed the town and handed demolition notices for al-Salam school built 10-years ago, an iron factory that has been in existence for 20 years and a commercial structure located at the southern entrance of the town.

He said the Israeli forces also left a notice for the demolition of a house owned by Palestinian expatriate Saleh Najjar.

Another homeowner identified as Malek Hamid was previously notified of the decision to demolish his house, said the mayor.

No reason was given for the demolitions.
