Kuwaiti court increases prison against writer to 6 years for offensive to Saudi

SHAFAQNA ( Exclusive ) – Kuwaiti Court of Appeal on Wednesday has increased the prison sentence against the writer Saleh Saeed to six years, for publishing «Tweets», deemed an offensive to Saudi Arabia. He was sentenced lower court last December to four years, after the court held that the 16 «tweet» published by Saeed in October of 2014 represent a threat to the relations of Kuwait – Saudi Arabia.
However, the Court of Appeal decided yesterday after reviewing the judgment increase two years to become a six-year prison, the court did not give the reasons for its decision.
Saeed accused by the prosecution, he had continued to criticize Saudi Arabia, Qatar and other Gulf countries during the past years due to their political stand to the regime of Bashar al-Assad in Syria.
It is noteworthy that the Kuwaiti authorities have detained several activists last month for their release Tweets against  Saudi.
