Larijani will meet Iraqi, Syrian, Bangladeshi counterparts on IPU

SHAFAQNA (Shia International News Association) – Iranian Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani is to meet and confer with his Syrian, Iraqi and Bangladeshi counterparts here on the sidelines of 131st Session of Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU).

Accompanied by a parliamentary delegation, Larijani arrived in Geneva Sunday evening to attend the IPU session that will begin on Monday afternoon in the presence of delegations from more than 140 member countries.

Exchanging ideas about the most important regional and international developments and expansion of parliamentary relations will be in the agenda of the Iranian Parliament speaker and his accompanying delegation in their meetings with various countries’ counterparts.

Larijani is also scheduled to meet the head of the International Red Cross Society today afternoon and will give his IPU address on Tuesday.

Thirty-five parliament speakers, and 20 vice speakers have attended this year’s IPU annual session and the rest of the delegations are at the level of parliamentary delegations.
