Macron hails “massive” turnout in French presidential election

SHAFAQNA – France’s centrist presidential hopeful Emmanuel Macron vows to turn a page in French political history.
Addressing supporters in Paris, Macron calls on all patriots to rally behind him in the battle against what he called the threat of nationalism. He also pledged to build a majority government with new faces. Meanwhile, Far-right leader Marine Le Pen claimed victory in the first round of the election and hailed the election result as historic. She said her National Front party would represent what she called the great alternative to the French people.
