Malta 0-1 Italy: Southampton striker Graziano Pelle scores on his debut as Azzurri make it three wins out of three

SHAFAQNA –  Southampton striker Graziano Pelle scored on his debut as Italy maintained their 100 per cent start in qualifying for Euro 2016. Pelle put Italy ahead in the 23rd minute when he poked the ball home after Pasqual’s header had sparked a goalmouth scramble.

Five minutes later Malta were reduced to 10 men after captain Michael Mifsud was shown a straight red card for a foul on Alessandro Florenzi.

Italy were also reduced to 10 men when Leonardo Bonucci was sent off in 78th minute for a foul on Malta’s Andre Schembri.
