SHAFAQNA (Shia International News Association) – When Imam Hussain (AS) refused to swear allegiance to Yazid, Marwan Hakam told Imam (AS): O’ Aba Abdullah! I want to give you an advice, accept it in order to be guided! Imam Hussain (AS) said: What is it? Tell me, I will listen. Marwan said: I want you to swear allegiance to Amiral momeneen, Yazid! because this is best for you in this world and for your religion. Imam Hussain (AS) replied: When the Ummah of the Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) is led by someone like Yazid then the real Islam is in danger and must say goodbye to it. O’ Marwan! I heard from my Grandfather, the Prophet of Allah (PBUH) who said: The caliphate is Haram for Abusofian clan. Then for a while, Imam Hussain (AS) and Marwan exchanged words and Marwan left whilst he was very angry [1].
