Medic Ibrahim Al-Demistani Released after Serving a Three-Year Sentence

SHAFAQNA – The Bahraini authorities released the Secretary-General of the Bahraini Nursing Society, Ibrahim Al-Demistani, on Tuesday (April 28, 2015), after serving a three-year jail sentence over charges of treating injured protesters during the popular demonstrations that Bahrain witnessed in February of 2011. The village of Demistan is making its preparations to welcome him upon his arrival.

Dozens gathered in the village that lies southwest of the capital Manama to welcome Ibrahim Al-Demistani, who has stressed on calling for the people’s demands, after visiting his son’s grave (Ali Al-Demistani), who was martyred on March 2011.
