SHAFAQNA – The Grand Ayatollah Khamenei answered a question about making an oath.
Question: If someone makes an oath to carry out a deed/task or abandon it; is it religiously Wajib to fulfill his/her oath?
The Grand Ayatollah Khamenei: It is Wajib to fulfill an oath if that deed/task has monetary and spiritual value and it is better to be carried out; and make an oath in the name of God or other characteristics which usually are special to God such as “Khaliq” (The Creator) or “Raziq” (The Provider).
