Why we need to learn and pay attention to what happened to our predecessors?

SHAFAQNA – Why we need to learn and pay attention to what happened to our predecessors?

It is narrated from Imam Hussain (AS) who said: O’ the child of Adam (AS); think and say to yourself: Where all those sultans, kings, lords and the landowners of the world have gone? Those who built and improved the ruins of the world, constructed towns, dug canals, and then passed away from this world and went whilst they were most disinclined to leave this world; and another group of people sat in their places, and inherited from them. And soon, we shall join them [1].
