SHAFAQNA – Ayatollah Seyyed Ahmad Khatami held the weekly Friday Prayers in Tehran and commented on the US topsy turvy policy in the world and drew a comparison between the arrogant politicians of the west and the Pharaohs of ancient Egypt.
Addressing worshippers during weekly Friday Prayers in Tehran, interim Friday Prayers leader Ayatollah Seyed Ahmad Khatami advised Iran’s nuclear-talks team to stand no threat as it has been the policy of the arrogant of the history.
Drawing from Quran, the top cleric pointed to some characteristics of Pharaohs which are noticeable in US foreign policy makers and explained that the first negative trait of Pharaohs was transgression; not being bound by law. He exemplified that the US is interfering in other countries’ sovereignty and it is seen in Bahrain, Yemen and Syria. In Yemen backing Saudi strikes the US is supporting murdering of women and children. In Bahrain backing the monarch the US is supporting oppression. In Syria arming Takfiris the US is backing committing crimes against humanity. “Are not these examples of transgression?” he asked rhetorically.
The use of threat to bully its rivals is the third trait of the US politicians the same with the Pharaohs, the Ayatollah added referring to economic sanctions, and military assaults as means to intimidate other countries unwilling to bend to ungrounded demands of the Americans.
Referring to the recent remarks of the Leader of the Islamic Revolution in reaction to an American military threat, Khatami said the Iranian nation will chase anybody who poses harm on Iran, and bring them misery.
Touching upon eight-year defense of Iranians in face of western supported Saddam and Bathis, he warned the western states that if they would like to try their chance once again, “the Iranian nation would teach you quite a lesson to cause you never-ending regret.”
Addressing the 5+1 leaders, he advised them to understand the message of Friday prayers chanting against imperialism. He supported the nuke-talks negotiators as fellow Iranians who are defending a nation’s honor and asked them to stand no bullying approach in talks.
Eliciting from the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations of 1961 he called any agreement signed under pressure and mistreatment invalid and worthless.
