Official: Transnational Inche B-Turkmenistan Railway ready to use

SHAFAQNA- Gorgan, Sept 22 – A member of Board of Directors of IRI Railways Company said Sunday transnational Inche Boroun-Turkmenistan Railway which is soon to be officially opened in presence of three neighboring, friend countries of Iran, Turkmenistan and Kazakhstan and Kazakhstan.

 

‘According to initial planning, this transnational railway network will be officially put to use in the presence of the presidents of Iran, Turkmenistan and Kazakhstan in late October in Inche Boroun Island at the zero border point,’ said Ali Gharavi, speaking in Golestan Province Planning Council, in provincial capital city, Gorgan.

 

He said that after putting to use this transnational railway the rail transportations of the Central Asian countries with Iran, and especially with Iran’s Golestan province can pave the path for the economic development of the entire region.

 

Gharavi said that the whole required facilities and equipment for putting to use the Inche Boroun-Turkmenistan Railway in Iranian part of it are already provided and the Iranian officials are just waiting for the opening day.

 

The deputy governor of Golestan province for planning had earlier said on August 26, 2014, that the completion of Gorgan-Inche Boroun railway, officially opened by former president Mahmoud Ahmadijejad, was in need of allocating a 630Bln rial budget ($23Bln).

 

Ali Margdari who was speaking in the opening ceremony of 33 civil development projects in the province said that the 85 kilometer railway project was inaugurated in May, 2013 in the presence of the former president.

 

The 88 kilometer Inche Boroun-Turkmenistan Railway connects Iran, through Turkmenistan to Russia and the entire Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) countries, as well as China.
