SHAFAQNA – Martyr Mortaza Motahhari narrated : One of the close companions of the Prophet (PBUH), Othman ibn Maz’oun died of his illness in the house of a believing woman of Medina called Umm Alaa. When preparing for his burial, Umm Alaa faced Othman’s body and said: God’s mercy be on you, I witness that you will be taken close to God. The Prophet (PBUH) immediately said to her: Of course I am hopeful about him but I must say to you, as the prophet of God even I cannot express such a definite opinion about myself or any one of you.
Umm Alaa, to the end of her life never repeated her sayings at the time of Othman’s death and whenever someone died she said: Only God knows what is the current situation of this person. After a long time, Umm Alaa saw Othman in her dream that a stream belongs to him and asked the Prophet (PBUH) about the interpretation of her dream. The Prophet (PBUH) replied: That stream is his deeds that are still flowing .
