Pakistani Shia leaders rally around Church following bombing

SHAFAQNA – Officials of leading Shia party Majlis-e-Wahdat-e-Muslimeen (MWM) met Bishop Sadiq Daniel of Church of Pakistan and expressed condolence on the human losses during suicide bombings at two Churches in Youhanabad Lahore.

Ali Hussain Naqvi, Maulana Ahsan Danish and Maulana Sadiq Jafari of the MWM met Mr. Daniel and also exchanged views on the terrorist attacks on places of worship.

They were of the views that Jamaat ul Ahrar, Taliban and their allies with whatever names, are anti-humanity, anti-Islam and anti-Pakistan terrorist outfits and their ideology of hatred and intolerance had nothing to do with true and pious ideology of Islam being practiced by Shia Muslims and Sunnis of Pakistan.

MWM officials said that same outfits and their allies perpetrated suicide bombings during Friday prayers and other prayers in Shia mosques, congregations in Imam Bargahs, and also at shrines of great Islamic saints such as Abdul Shah Ghazi in Karachi, Baba Fareed Ganj Shakkar Pak Pattan, Data Darbar (Ali Hujwairi) Lahore, Sakhi Sarwar Dera Ghazi Khan, Pushto-poet Rehman Baba, etc.

They said that Jamaat ul Ahrar was an outlawed outfit and it has many allies in Punjab province and top of them was a proscribed outfit that is mother organisation of banned Lashkar-e-Jhangvi. They said that proscribed outfit remains an ally of the PMLN government and Punjab-based leadership of the proscribed outfit promoted violent extremism and takfiri ideology and latest case for their provocative takfiri sloganeering was registered last month by Islamabad Secretariat Police.

They said that had the government and judiciary taken notice of the takfiri terrorism and fanaticism and punished them for these heinous crimes, entire country would have been saved but inaction against the terrorists due to their overt electoral alliance with PMLN that lasts so far, encouraged and emboldened the proscribed terrorist outfit and their allied-Taliban (TTP) to continue terror attacks.
