SHAFAQNA (Shia International News Association) – The Israeli army has shot dead a Palestinian boy in the occupied West Bank, Press TV reports.
Thirteen-year-old Bahaa Sameer Badir was killed after the Israeli army raided Beit Laqia village and opened fire on Palestinians on Thursday.
Sameer was critically injured after being hit by a live bullet in the chest and immediately lost his life.
Following the deadly incident, clashes erupted between the Israeli army and Beit Laqia’s residents, who took to the streets to protest against the teen’s murder.
The Israeli regime is under fire for its violent treatment of Palestinian children. In blatant violation of international law, Tel Aviv has frequently arrested Palestinian children without giving a reason for the detention.
Israel has intensified its crackdown on Palestinian protesters since Tuesday after Palestinians held rallies in the occupied West Bank city of Ramallah to voice support for the holy city of East al-Quds (Jerusalem).
Palestinians are extremely angry at Israeli attacks on the al-Aqsa Mosque, considering them the desecration of the holy Islamic site. Palestinians argue that al-Quds is the capital of a future Palestinian independent state, and that its heritage should remain intact.
