SHAFAQNA – Following is the translation of an Iranian poem courtesy of a talented young woman: Comet. In her desire to bridge cultures and open a window on the beauty and soul of Iran, Comet shared her work with Shafaqna.
All world wants and You say “NO”, it won’t happen
You say “YES” and that’s all done in one second
Since the “FIRST” and the “LAST” are both You!
It’s forbidden to ask from those depending on You!
You’re always present here!
It’s me, far away from You …
The very me, deep in lunar death
All I need is sunny eyes of You!
I don’t want to be manikin’s puppet,
As far as I have You as my God!
Why would I take You for granted?!
I’d better regard You as eternal love!
Recently I’ve found that except You,
Nobody’s word would be a sure thing
People may come for a while, and go…
Nobody is going to be everlasting…
Set me free from myself please!
So tired of this weary mind
I’d rather go somehow insane!
All world wants and You say “NO”, it won’t happen
You say “YES” and that’s all done in one second
Since the “FIRST” and the “LAST” are both You!
It’s forbidden to ask from those depending on You!
