Meanwhile, in the northwestern city of Idlib, the army forces recaptured a military base.

Two senior terrorist commanders were also killed in clashes with the Syrian forces in areas surrounding the western city of Homs and the capital Damascus.

Syria has been grappling with a deadly crisis since March 2011. According to UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Zeid Ra’ad Zeid al-Hussein, more than 200,000 people have died in the Syrian conflict over the past more than three years.
