SHAFAQNA (International Shia News Agency)- Eid Milad ul-Nabi (the birthday of Prophet Muhammad) is an occasion to celebrate the life of the Prophet Muhammad. It falls on the 12th (observes by Sunni Muslims) or 17th day of the Islamic month of Rabi’ al-awwal (observes by Shi’a Muslims) which in 2015 falls on 2nd and 8th of January.
Muslims view this festival as a means to teach their communities about the Prophet Muhammad’s way of life, which all Muslims seek to emulate.
According to Shafaqna, London Islamic Centre also marks the birthday of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and Imam Ja’far Sadiq (A.S.) with a special celebration programme.
