Prophet Ibrahim (AS) cried for Imam Hussain (AS)

SHAFAQNA –

Prophet Ibrahim (AS) cried many times for Imam Hussain (AS), one of those times was whilst he was observing the situations of the earth and the sky when he saw the light of Imam Hussain (AS) and became sad and wept [1]. Imam Reza (AS) said: When Ibrahim (AS) decided to slaughter his son Ismail (AS) and God sent him a sheep to slaughter instead of his son, a revelation came to him, asking: O’ Ibrahim, who do you love most among my created beings? Prophet Ibrahim (AS) replied: Your loved one, Mohammad (PBUH). Revelation came, asking: Do you love his child more or your own? Ibrahim (AS) replied: The child of your beloved one.

Revelation came, asking Ibrahim (AS): Do you feel more pain slaughtering your son to show your obedience to God or slaughter of the child of my beloved by his enemies? Ibrahim (AS) replied: The slaughter of his child give me more pain and heart ache. Then God said: O’ Ibrahim, some who think they belong to the Ummah of the last prophet slaughter him (Imam Hussain (AS)) ruthlessly like a sheep and by doing so they will be inflicted with God’s anger and painful torments. O’ Ibrahim, for the sorrow you have shown for Hussain (AS) I will raise your level to the high rank of those who are patient in calamities [2, 3].
