SHAFAQNA- The Holy Quran urges everyone to resort to intellectualism, wisdom, and logical dialogue, a senior cleric said.
Speaking in the 186th meeting of the Supreme Council of the World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought (WFPIST) in Beirut on Thursday, Ayatollah Mohammad Ali Taskhiri, head of the council, added that the Quran calls for tolerance and efforts to find commonalities even with non-Muslims.
He reiterated the importance of unity and proximity among Islamic schools of thought, saying that Muslim unity is what the WFPIST pursues.
Ayatollah Taskiri referred to the Islamic Republic of Iran’s efforts to promote unity in the Islamic Ummah and noted that the establishment of the WFPIST was in line with this objective.
Elsewhere in his remarks, the senior cleric pointed to the current conflicts in the Muslim world and said the enemies of Islam have been behind all of these seditions and tensions.
