SHAFAQNA – A Quran teachers training course in Uganda concluded in a ceremony a few days ago.

The course was held by the Iranian Cultural Center in the African country, according to the website of the Islamic Culture and Relations Organization (ICRO).

The al-Mustafa International University’s branch in Uganda also cooperated in organizing the Quranic program.

The teacher of the course was Hojat-ol-Islam Ziaeinia, who was dispatched to Uganda by ICRO.

At the closing ceremony, three of the participants who scored the highest in the final examination were honored.

Addressing the ceremony, Ali Bakhtiari, Iran’s Cultural Attaché in Uganda, underlined the importance of developing Quranic activities and described Quran teachers and experts as those who serve the Holy Book and, therefore, its teachings should be manifested in their words and deeds.

Uganda is a Christian-majority country in central Africa. Some 13 percent of the country’s 38 million population is Muslim.
