Replace soda with water, tea or coffee to fight diabetes, study suggests

SHAFAQNA – Researchers suggest that replacing a soft drink or a sweetened milk drink with one such as water or unsweetened tea or coffee every day could significantly reduce the risk of developing type 2 diabetes.In the study, published in Diabetologia, the researchers find that for every 5% increase in daily energy intake that is provided by sweet drinks, such as soft drinks and artificially sweetened beverages, the risk of type 2 diabetes could increase by up to 18%.
