SHAFAQNA – Hisham bin Salem narrated: A man came to Imam Sadeq (AS) and asked: O’ the child of the Prophet of Allah (SWT); is it possible to visit (Ziarat) the grave of the Prophet (PBUH), and Aba Abdellah-el-Hussain (AS)? Imam Sadeq (AS) replied: Yes. That man asked: What is the reward for someone who visits (Ziarat) the grave of Imam Hussain (AS)? Imam Sadeq (AS) replied: If that person believes in Imamate of Imam Hussain (AS), and follows the tradition of Imam Hussain (AS), paradise is that person’s reward.

The man asked Imam Sadeq (AS): What is the reward of someone who dies during the pilgrimage to Karbala? Imam (AS) replied: Some of the rewards are that the angels of mercy will take part in his/her burial ceremony; his/her burial clothes and camphor (for making the dead body to smell pleasant) will be brought from heaven, they will perform Salaat on his/her body, he/she will be covered with heavenly shroud, a carpet of flowers will be laid for him/her, his/her grave will be extended from four sides, a door to paradise will open from his/her grave, and the heavenly scent will fill his/her grave, and he/she will remain in this state until the Day of Judgment [1]. In another narration it is mentioned: Whoever wants to be relieved from agonies and fears of dying, visit (Ziarat) the grave of Imam Hussain (AS) a lot (multiple times) [2].
