What is the ruling on not making an effort to educate children properly? The Grand Ayatollah Shobairi’s Fatwa

SHAFAQNA – The Grand Ayatollah Shobairi Zanjani answered a question about educating children by parents.

Question: Is it people’s right if efforts are not made to educate children properly and teach them the correct beliefs and (religious) laws; and are parents liable to punishment?

The Grand Ayatollah Shobairi: If failure to provide necessary education for the children is due to lack of efforts; it is Haram and (the perpetrator) is liable to be reprimanded.
