Russian Professor: Respecting Ahlul Bayt, a Religious Obligation for Sunni Muslims

SHAFAQNA –  Russian Ph.D. student of anthropology said, “Respecting Ahl al-Bayt (A.S.) is a religious duty for the Sunni Muslims and it is, as ordered by Qura’an and Ahl al-Bayt’s (A.S.) traditions (Hadiths), an Islamic obligation. There is no difference between Sunni and Shiite Muslims”.

This is his first visit from the Razavi Holy Shrine, Sha’ban Hafezof added, “Attending at this holy place, human’s mental and spiritual mood changes in a way which is cannot be described orally”.

Saying that respecting Prophet’s family is a religious obligation for the Sunni Muslims, he affirmed, “I have traveled to many Muslim countries including Georgia, Turkey, and Azerbaijan, but no place has got Razavi Shrine’s vastness and spirituality”.

Referring to the existing Islamic and Iranian architecture in all porticos and courtyards of the Razavi Holy Shrine, he added, “Elements of Islamic and Iranian architecture have now affected world’s architecture so that Russian architects take the advantage of Islamic architectures when they want to create historical buildings”.

This Ph.D. student of anthropology at a Russian University recognized organization’s provisioned programs for non-Iranian pilgrims as very helpful and stressed, “Millions of pilgrims with different languages and cultures come to Razavi Holy Shrine from around the world”. He also said, “Holding such programs for non-Iranian pilgrims can help these foreigners to know this place and its various activities and sections better”.

“Today’s enemies of Islam try to make, by having negative propagations, conflicts between Shiites and Sunnis. Therefore, Sunni and Shiite Muslims must make connection and negotiate with each other, having no mediates”, Hafezof added.

Saying that this is his third visit to the Razavi Holy Shrine, Asva Ouva, another member of this group, said, “I have become refreshed and also gotten lots of energy, whenever I’ve come to this holy place”.

He stated, “I have visited many different Islamic countries such as Syria and Turkey and other Iranian cities such as Isfahan, Shiraz, and Qom, the grandeur and beauty of Imam Reza (A.S.) Holy Shrine is not comparable with other cities”.

Referring to the wide range of services provisioned by management of non-Iranian pilgrims’ affairs, Ph.D. student of Russian Academy of Sciences stated, “Visiting Imam Reza (A.S.) Holy Shrine by the prominent Sunni scholars responded many of these doubts”.

It should be mentioned that 12 Sunni Muslims from Russia visited Razavi Shrine and enjoyed, attending at Razavi Shrine’s Ghadir Portico, the special programs arranged by the management of non-Iranian pilgrims’ affairs of Astan Quds Razavi.

Shrine tour, displaying video clips, offering cultural packages such as tradition (Hadith) books for Sunni Muslims, Holy Qura’an, tale of the Sun book, and a poster of Selselat al-Zahab in Russian were some of the services offered to this group of pilgrims.
